How does the septic system know if the air compressor has stopped working? Tecmark provides a simple answer to that question. They make a pressure switch that can be connected to the air hose leaving the air compressor. If the aerator stops working, air pressure will drop in the air hose. The pressure switch will detect the drop in air pressure and trigger the alarm. This switch is important, because inadequate air flow will interfere with how an aerobic septic system treats wastewater.

 There are a few things to keep in mind about pressure switches. The alarm may be triggered if the air hose starts to leak or if it gets disconnected from the switch or compressor. We urge cation when mowing around the air compressor and control panel, because it is easy to damage the small hose leading to the pressure switch.

If your alarm continues to trigger after the problems have been fixed, there may be a problem with the switch itself. Thankfully, most Aerobic Septic Control Panel External Air Alarms use the exact same wires and switches. That means the product is essentially universal.
