Sewage Pump Overview

Sewage pumps transfer untreated raw sewage from a catch tank, or transfer tank to either the septic system or directly to the city sewer. Most sewage pumps are made of entirely of cast iron and varying in size from 1/2 HP all the way to 5 HP.

They often have an open volute to allow larger solids to pass through the pump. These pumps can be used for general purpose or all around as well due to their design quality.

These pumps can often be found with wide angle float switches. Most float switches that come with sewage pumps will have a piggy back plug. The pump's plug will connect to the back of the of the piggy back plug, and then the piggy back plug will connect to the electrical outlet.

After the float switch is connected, the float will activate the pump when the water level rises and deactivate the pump when the fluid level lowers.
